The RAF Waddington Flying Club (WFC) was formed in the Spring of 2003 by a small group of service personnel who were keen to bring the joy of light-aircraft and General Aviation (GA) flying to the base. Since that time the club has grown beyond all expectations to become a leading flying training facility with an ever-growing membership. A friendly yet thoroughly professional flying club, we pride ourselves on the high standard of our training, our general flying activities and the array of first class facilities available for all to enjoy.

Affiliated to the Royal Air Force Flying Club Association (RAFFCA), the primary aim of WFC is to provide low cost flying and flying training to its members. Operating under the terms of an MOD encroachment order, the club is administered by the membership on a non-profit-making and voluntary basis. In doing so, we are able to keep our costs as low as possible. Located on the eastern side of the RAF Waddington Airfield, flying operations are authorised throughout the week and at weekends but may be subject to restrictions when military flying is being conducted. Our fleet of aircraft are maintained to the highest of standards and in accordance with the regulations mandated by the Civilian Aviation Authority (CAA).

Membership of WFC is open to all Regular, Reserve and Auxiliary Members of the Armed Forces of the Crown, Commonwealth and Allied Forces as well as members of the University Air Squadrons, the Air Training Corps and the Air Section of the combined cadet Force. Civilians employed by the Ministry of Defence, partners or dependants of Service personnel are also eligible. In some cases, membership can be offered to civilians who make positive contributions to the club. Full details regarding membership criteria are provided at the membership page. Our highly experienced instructor team has an infectious enthusiasm for flying and teaching. Between them, they have amassed an unrivalled level of instructing expertise and have become highly specialised in everything from basic flight instruction to advanced aerobatics.

Whether you would like to gain qualifications, develop your skills, hire an aircraft or simply enjoy social membership of the club then there could not be a better place to do so than at WFC. If you would like to make an enquiry, or you just want to discuss your options then please get in touch or pop over for a “look-see” - we would love to hear from you it could be your first step in turning what is probably a long-held dream into reality!
